Nkangala TVET College, in collaboration with FP&M SETA, is calling on 100 unemployed South African citizens to apply for its Artisan Training Programme.

This fully funded opportunity helps you build certified skills in essential technical trades.

Due Date: 11 July 2025

Location: Nkangala TVET College, Witbank Campus (Mpumalanga)

Duration: 12 months (full-time accredited programme)

Allowance: Monthly support provided

Programme Overview

This initiative is part of the Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL), which is designed for individuals with at least 3 years of experience in a specific trade—either formally or informally.

It allows eligible candidates to fast-track their artisan qualifications by preparing them for the national trade test.

Available Components:

  • Electrician
  • Mechanical Fitter
  • Millwright
  • Welder
  • Boilermaker

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Completed at least Grade 9 (technical background is a plus)
  • Currently unemployed and available for full-time training
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in your chosen trade

Nkangala TVET College was formed in 2003 with the merger of Witbank, Middelburg, Mpondozankomo, and CN Mahlangu campuses (formerly Technical Colleges) in Nkangala region. Waterval Boven Campus was transferred in 2011 from Ehlanzeni FET College. The college was formed after the adoption of FET Act of 1996 by Parliament.

The college has grown significantly over the years, expanding its program offerings and improving its facilities to provide students with quality education and training. Today, Nkangala TVET College stands as a leading institution in the region, committed to empowering students with the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers.

National Certificate (Vocational) programs provide students with both theory and practical experience in their chosen field. These programs are designed for students who have completed Grade 9 and wish to pursue vocational training.

National Technical Education (NATED) programs, also known as Report 191 programs, are designed for students who have completed Grade 12 and wish to pursue technical and vocational training at a higher level.
