What the STA Coal Mining Learner Programme Offers

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 11 or equivalent with Mathematics and Science
- B Tech or M Tech in Mining Engineering (for certain roles)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a clear criminal record
- Valid South African ID
- South African citizenship
- Valid driver’s license
- Medical fitness to work underground
- Proof of residential address
- No criminal offences
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work in teams and independently
- Good problem-solving abilities
- High level of flexibility (shift work required)
- Physically fit and able to perform duties underground
- Hardworking and dedicated
- Additional Application Requirements:
- Provide certified copies of ID and academic qualifications (not older than 3 months)
- Must submit certified proof of N2 Certificate or higher
- Certified copy of valid driver’s license
