About the FMIP
The Financial Management Internship Programme (FMIP) is a 24-month structured internship aimed at equipping young finance graduates with practical experience in municipal financial management. The programme is implemented under the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and aligned with the National Treasury’s capacity-building initiatives.

Internship Benefits
Allowance: R100,000 p/a

- Financial reporting
- Revenue management
- Supply chain management
- Internal audit
- Mentorship by experienced professionals
- CIMA, SAIPA, ACCA alignment (where applicable)
- Career progression opportunities in government or finance sectors
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens, aged 21–35 years
- Hold a National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Auditing, or related fields
- Have no prior formal public sector work experience
- Be willing to commit to a 24-month contract
- Demonstrate good personal skills and a customer-service orientation
- Preference will be given to unemployed youth and previously disadvantaged individuals in line with Employment Equity objectives.
